About me

Emily Williams

I knew when I named my business Labor Of Rage ART at its inception in early 2017 it would garner a strong response, one of either immediate distaste or intrigue. Of course my hope is for the latter, and if you are reading this I can only assume that you have somewhat of an open mind.

Its not as satanic as some of the blue hairs in Greenwich assume it to be. To me it just means that I paint when I am angry/upset/hurt/in a fowl mood. That is to say, it is a means by which I sort through and make sense of the things in this life that seem unfair, unreasonable or unnecessary. It brings me immense joy, instantly brightens my spirits and lifts me out of my slump. That is why you will not find any anger or frustration in my abstract paintings. They may be born out of exasperation but they transform into beacons of light and peace.

When you look at it like that it makes sense yeah? We all have things we do when life throws us a curve ball. Some people go for long runs or to the gym and work through frustrations. Others go on retail therapy trips to their favorite stores. I turn up the music and paint it out.

Lucky for you, you're not one of the ones who missed out on all this beauty by judging too quickly a book by its cover.
